Higgs Construction Ltd is a long-established construction company proudly based in Christchurch. With decades of experience in commercial construction, we have built a reputation for reliability, craftsmanship, and delivering projects that exceed expectations. Our deep roots in the region have given us not only a strong understanding of local needs but also long-standing relationships with trusted subcontractors who choose to work with us time and time again.

Our Capabilities
What sets Higgs Construction apart is our ability to manage and deliver large-scale projects using in-house resources. We maintain a permanent team of over 70 skilled professionals, including project managers, quantity surveyors, foremen, carpenters, labourers, and crane operators. This structure allows us to maintain consistency, quality, and control throughout every stage of construction.
Our approach is hands-on. For projects exceeding $1 million, we assign a full-time Project Manager on-site, supported by a site foreman and leading hand carpenters—ensuring clear communication, accountability, and smooth project delivery.
In addition, we own an extensive fleet of plant and equipment valued in the millions. This includes cranes, scaffolding, lifting systems, and heavy transport—minimizing reliance on hired gear and giving us the flexibility to respond quickly to site demands. These capabilities have enabled us to successfully complete major projects such as the St George’s Hospital Redevelopment, Christ’s College Upper West Sports Centre, and Burlington Village.
