Completion Achieved – Awards Piling In ….

In October 2014, another major project was completed by Higgs Construction, on time and to budget.

In May 2013, Higgs Construction Limited commenced the construction of the new $21 Million “Building No.1” of the New Tait Communications Campus.

With only the separate siteworks contract remaining, the new building now sits completed within the landscape of the new Tait’s Commercial Campus Development.

The structure consists of a LVL Timber and Steel framed Structure, sitting on a screw piled foundation system. Ringfeder Seismic Springs are incorporated into the K-Frame bracing system to minimise the impact of future earthquake events.

The project includes many new design innovations and was featured recently in the SCNZ 2015 Excellence in Steel Awards. The project was the winner of the $1.5 – $3.0m steel value catergory. “An architecturally complex design which called for some impressive fabrication of challenging steel assemblies.”

The successful build methodology was lead by our Senior Project Manager Mark Weber and his team.
